Please note:

The following is to make unsuspecting innocent clients aware of what I consider a potential health problem; and that I absolutely distance myself and my company, Peace Body Therapy, from any responsibility potentially arising from Shannon Boits Anderson's lack of concern and respect for massage clients' health and safety.

Recently, Shannon Boits Anderson was utilizing my business where she
practiced massage therapy. I was under the impression, considering we
attended the same university, same classes, at the same time, and with
the same instructors, that our ideals about customer service and
cleanliness would be at least similar. Wow, was I wrong.
Ms. Boits Anderson has recently run some deals on Living Social and
Groupon.  Ms. Boits Anderson is not concerned with her fulfilling these
commitments, she is in need of monies for personal issues and is now
overwhelmed and consistently cancels and reschedules appointments or
just simply is unavailable when clients arrive for their appointments.
Ms. Boits Anderson has not carried and is possibly still not carrying
required liability insurance.
Ms. Boits Anderson uses contaminated lotion for massages.  She puts
lotion in a cup and uses the same lotion for every client all day and
at times over several days; consistently dipping her fingers in the
same lotion she used on every other client that day or week.  If there
is any lotion left at the end of the day or week, she sets the cup
inside the large lotion container for use the next time, thus
contaminating the entire container of lotion.
Ms. Boits Anderson also utilizes unsanitary rocks on clients.  These
rocks are not cleansed or santized between clients, if ever.  In
packing up Ms. Boits Anderson's equipment after her resignation,
several rocks fell from a crock pot that I loaned her for heating these
for sessions.  These rocks were slimey and covered in bacteria.  The
inside of the crock pot that I loaned her, clean and new (!), was caked
and coroded with oil and bacteria...yellow.
Ms. Boits Anderson also overstepped her boundaries by invading my
personal client base.  Although clients are allowed to chose who they
receive their care from, some became confused when Ms. Boits Anderson
was their therapist rather than myself.
As I truely care about my current, past, and future clients; I promise to make every sincere attempt to keep you properly cared for, safe, and healthy as possible. Although I am not perfect, you can be assured of my facility's cleanliness and that all certifications and inspections are current and posted.

My apologies if this offended anyone. This is to protect myself and Peace Body Therapy.

It's a ridiculous situation and I'm gonna nip it in the hind end right now...If you have purchased a voucher from Groupon for sessions with Shannon Anderson, LCMT, and she cannot get you in within a reasonable amount of time, you consistently get cancelled on or rescheduled by her, or you are just plain getting the "run around" ... please call me.  Peace Body Therapy will not tolerate disrespect o...f any clients current or brand new by any other therapist.  So please advise me if you or someone you know is being treated poorly by Shannon Anderson.  I may be a bit overbooked right now, but if you are a current client of mine or Ken's, we will do our ultimate best to provide appointments asap.  I don't relish doing a message like this but I will not stand for Peace Body Therapy being discredited by anyone.  Thank you for understanding.

This is a message I received from a previous contact of Shannon's in response to the above statement:

Nick LoweYeah she did this at her old job in Lakeville too.  Caveat Emptor!  LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!!  Sorry this happened to you Peace Body.  Certainly not surprising to me though...her shady reputation precedes her.

So with that being said....it is safe to come see us!  We follow health, safety, and legal guidelines so you can relax and enjoy your sessions!
